Shannon's first hair analysis done.  Results as follows:

First hair analysis results.  type 3 slow metabolism. - characterized by para-sympathetic dominance, increased thyroid function (secretion of hormones), decreased adrenal activity (secretion of hormones)
Insomnia type #1 - characterized by inability to fall asleep associated with calcium deficiency (bc of calcium/magnesium ratio regardless that calcium level was sufficient)
Magnesium was elevated, which is essential for muscle relaxation.  Has sedating effect on body when elevated.  Contributes also to low body temp and cravings for salt.
- causes - elevated tissue calcium, reduced adrenal cortical function, low protein intake (don't think that could be it, unless just not digesting it)
Sodium - slightly elevated, can be due to stress even if not consuming a lot
Potassium - elevated in slow metabolic (Type 3 which I am) indicative of the exhaustion stage of stress
Bismuth - elevated, hair dyes and make up, dentistry
Rubidium - elevated, fertilizers, corn and cereals
Platinum - elevated, jewelry
Ratios - Low sodium/potassium ratio - mood swings,indecision
low calcium/potassium - stress response, elevated thyroid activity, calcium loss can occur is this ratio persists
low calcium/magnesium - important ratio for muscles to contract and relax properly
Diet suggestions:  high protein food at each meal, frequent meals, eat up to 40% unrefined carbs,
avoid: sugars and refined carbs, high purine protein (salmon, organ meats, sardines, mackerel)
reduce: milk products, fats and oils (less than 20%), fruit juice
eat: Methionine rich foods to help supply sulfur to the cells to activate enzymes, cod, turkey, flounder, round steak, short ribs, perch, sirloin, pumpkin seeds
avoid eating bc of impeding adrenal function: almonds, cashews, wild rice, tofu, baker's yeast, pecans, hazelnuts, molasses, bass, garbanzo beans, brazil nuts, cocoa powder, walnuts, chestnuts, spinach, figs
