What Cures ME/CFS? Fibromyalgia?

Over the last 12 years I have learned a great deal about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and it's kissing cousin Fibromyalgia.  If one has CFS, there is a good chance he or she will develop fibromyalgia.  In my case I have dealt with them both for several decades, but was unaware what I was dealing with until the summer of 2001 when I experienced my CRASH. (My word that summer when my health totally failed me.)

There are a multitude of things that a person can do to lessen or eliminate the many symptoms that accompany these conditions.  I have spent many, many hours sharing with you my Road to Recovery for your use and benefit.  I do hope and pray that you can discover your own road to recovery with the help of what I have shared here.  To begin your own search I give you these quotes from a useful book:

"My experience has shown that it is not effective to use a single treatment modality to treat [chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia].  In these illnesses, one condition can trigger other conditions (e.g. a viral illness can trigger a hormonal imbalance).  A single treatment modality will not achieve the optimum results in these patients."  Overcoming Arthritis, See How Holistic Treatments Can Cure Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue syndrome and Other Conditions, David Brownstein, M.D., p. 50

"Because patients with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome have multiple problems occurring simultaneously, only a holistic approach will be effective.  My experience has shown that all of the different treatment options outlined in this book (e.g. antibiotic therapy, natural hormonal therapies, nutritional therapies, detoxification and others) need to be appropriately assessed and used in order to achieve an optimum outcome. .... Conventional medicine's reliance on using one drug to treat an illness is not effective in these chronic conditions." Ibid. pp. 50, 51

There are no known cures for ME/CFS or fibromyalgia according to the research that has been done, but I have put myself through strict diet, exercise, supplementation and detoxification for the last 12 1/2  years (I write this January of 2014) of experimenting to be cured of these two maladies.  My hypothesis?  IF YOU RID YOUR BODY OF TOXINS YOU CAN BE CURED OF CHRONIC FATIGUE AND FIBROMYALGIA!!!!  I realize that is a very bold statement, but I challenge anyone in the medical science field to prove me wrong.  I am not here to prove anything to anyone.  I am here to give you a history of my journey to wellness.  I heard my husband tell a friend on the phone, "She has had a really rough year, but she has managed to cure herself of fibromyalgia".  Now if the person who is closest to me and who has had to go through the last 12 years of detoxification with me can testify to that fact then what I have to share with you is worth sharing.

My journey to wellness has been a testimony to many of my family members, especially my daughter-in-law, Shannon, who also suffers with fibromyalgia.  Shannon has recently begun her own journey to wellness.  For many years she has been by my side and watching and putting into practice many things that I have shared in this website.  She has been very helpful to me by researching on her own and sharing many things with me to help me on my journey.  She has consented to be my 'guinea pig' and allow me to journal her road to recovery on this site.  Being able to share what I have learned is an encouragement to me.  It is my prayer that the Lord will bring many people across my path who are willing to take mine and Shannon's lead and get serious with their own health and well being.
