If you have come to this website to find a quick fix or a miracle drug then you have come to the wrong place. I certainly wish that there was a quick fix or a miracle drug to 'cure' Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, but to my knowledge none exists.
This website is not here to sell you anything; it is here to help you gain a better understanding of CFS, whether you personally are afflicted with it or whether someone you love is afflicted with the condition. My purpose is to share with you what worked (and is still working) for me in treating CFS.In doing so I hope that you can find some hope for your own situation. I have tried very hard to set up this website to make it easy for you to learn from it. If you are in the throws of CFS then chances are you cannot spend much time in front of a computer and understanding anything that you read can be difficult for you.
CFS is a very complex condition or disease. Someone who has contracted CFS may or may not have the same symptoms of someone else who has been diagnosed with CFS. And, because it is very complex you can expect treatment for CFS to be complex and unique to your own situation.
Once again, I am not proposing a cure for CFS. I am simply sharing with you what worked for me. The treatment described on these pages has become a lifestyle for me. CFS is a serious condition and can even be life-threatening, so any change you make in your own lifestyle needs to be under the supervision of your medical professional.
On this road to recovery I have learned (and continue to learn) a great deal about the human body and I stand in awe of the wonder of His creation because, like the Word says, "We are fearfully and wonderfully made". God has made your body so that it can repair itself. The body is designed to fight off anything that tries to invade it and cause it harm, but one must take care of their body so that it is equipped to heal itself.
God is perfectly capable of healing a body instantly and I cried out to Him many times during my darkness to do just that. If He had healed me instantly then the lessons would not have been learned and I wouldn't be developing a website to share my experiences. God allowed me to experience all that I did. God is in control even though it doesn't seem like it at times. I knew my healing would come, but I knew that it would be in God's time and in His way - not mine.
One of my most frequent sayings is, "Life ain't fair!" I don't say it in a critical way or a 'woe is me' attitude. I am simply stating a fact. If we are looking for justice or fairness we will be disappointed. I believe a healthy view of life is to realize that life isn't fair, that bad things happen to people and we must accept that fact.
Things had been done 'to' me that contributed to my demise - my CRASH. I had been sprayed with boll weevil spray and my body was over-laden with mercury from the amalgam fillings in my mouth. As a result, the toxicity level in my body was off the chart. But not all of my demise was a result of outside, uncontrollable sources. I had unwittingly exposed my body to many other toxic sources, i.e. paint fumes, solvents, toxic dust, cleaning compounds, chemicals in personal care products, etc. An infestation of parasites and an overgrowth of candida also contributed to the toxicity in my body.
In this section entitled Road to Recovery I share with you the treatments used to rid my body of all the toxins. I have devided this section into two sections: Professional Treatment and Personal Study and Application.
I received treatments from several holistic doctors. What is a holistic
doctor? Chiropractor, Naturopath, Homeopath, some Osteopathic and
Medical doctors, or simply put, any health-care professional that is
working to make you a healthy person by using natural means.
"Natural" therapy addresses diet, utilizing vitamins, minerals, herbs, exercise, environmental detoxification, body detoxification, manipulation of the spine, muscle testing (kinesiology), etc. Have and open mind and read for yourself. Some of these treatments did not aim directly at detoxing, but were administered to build up my body so that it could rid itself of the toxins.
I highly recommend that you find more than one doctor who can help you if you are on your own road to recovery, and I hope that you are willing to try alternative medicine if you, like me, are getting little or no help from the traditional medical establishment.
Please understand - I am not bashing traditional methods. It's just that I am firmly convinced from my own experience that there are many physical maladies that can be effectively treated by alternative methods. And chronic fatigue syndrome is one such condition.
During my initial recovery I was helped by several professionals -
three naturopaths, one of which is also a dentist, and two
chiropractors. Each of them evaluated my situation and each contributed effectively to my recovery.
I realize you may have some reservations about naturopaths (N.D.), chiropractors and other alternative professionals but if you are at the end of your rope then you, too, may be ready to try an alternative approach.
Please understand that the information contained on this website is for educational purposes only. It is not medical advise and it is not intended to replace the advise or attention of health-care professionals. You need to consult your physician before beginning or making changes in your diet, exercise program or supplements. Consult your physician for diagnosis and treatment of illness and injuries, and for advise regarding medications.
My primary naturopath informed me that disease cannot survive in an alkaline state. Such a statement gave me much incentive to watch very carefully what I ate.
She handed me a chart that listed foods that produced alkaline ash in the body and foods that produced acid ash in the body. At the time, my immune system was greatly compromised and most susceptible so I followed the chart religiously, and still do.
According to my naturopath, eighty percent of my diet would need to be foods in the alkaline category and 20% would be foods in the ash producing category. (Others recommend 75% alkaline and 25% acid.)
Generally your fruits and vegetables land in the alkaline group, with few exceptions. Meat, poultry and dairy land in the acid section, with no exceptions. Grains are acid (wheat, rye, oats, barley, buckwheat, amaranth, rice, spelt, etc.) Sorry to say, nuts fall in the acid group with the exception of almonds and chestnuts. So one needs to concentrate on eating vegetables and fruits - especially fresh fruit and vegetables - and limit the amount of meat and dairy that they consume.
Whenever I look at the Food Guide pyramid (put out by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and U.S. Health and human Services) I just shake my head. According to the chart it is presumed we will eat 15 to 26 servings of food a day. (The chart doesn't define what a serving is.) Out of that, it is recommended that 10-17 servings are taken from the meat, poultry, fish, milk and milk products groups. That means approximately 66% of your intake would be foods that produce acid ash. The chart recommends only 5-9 servings in the vegetable/fruit group. That means only 1/3 (or 33%) of your diet would consist of alkaline ash producing foods. What I'm trying to say is this - I don't recommend the food pyramid chart if you want to have a healthy body.
You may be thinking that I am proposing that everyone become a vegetarian. Be assured that I am not doing that. A vegetarian diet isn't for everyone and according to Dr. Bernard Jensen it doesn't work well for those who have a demanding job with a lot of stress, or for those in extremely competitive occupations. He states, "If you use up a lot of adrenaline in your way of life, then the vegetarian diet will not accommodate your needs." Foods That Heal, Dr. Bernard Jensen, p. 103.
I have compiled information from three different sources and produced a Alkaline/Acid Ash chart for your convenience. The chart will provide a quick reference for you if you are interested in following it.

This is an effective treatment that I highly recommend. All of my health-care providers during my recovery stage recommended the baths. All it involves is putting one cup baking soda and one cup Epsom salts in a tub full of hot water. Soak in it for about 20 minutes. It is very effective in drawing toxins out of the body and I think you will discover, as I did, that it helps in relieving arthritic conditions.
Prior to my CRASH I learned by researching on the internet that there was a very good chance that I had a good case of candidiasis, so I proceeded to find some lactobacillus acidophilus at the drug store and immediately began taking it.
My studies also helped me know what I needed to be eating and not eating to treat this condition as well. So I was addressing this problem a short time before my CRASH, but apparently not soon enough to prevent the CRASH.
In my case, one of the first things that the naturopaths addressed was the candida albicans. To do this they prescribed an antifungal therapy (mainly herbal treatment and essential oils) and the colon hydrotherapy. According to the Encyclopedia of Natural Healing "Diet changes alone do not reverse candida/fungal syndromes. Aggressive antifungal therapy is also necessary in almost all cases."
It doesn't hurt to watch what you eat, but my naturopaths put little faith in a restrictive diet to correct the candidiasis. Regardless - I stuck to my restricted diet. I still am careful to stay away from anything that feeds candida albicans such as any foods with yeast (white-flour products, alcoholic beverages), vinegar (apple cider vinegar is an exception), sugar, ketchup, milk, and uncultured dairy products (because of their milk-sugar content).
Naturopaths will generally tell you that sweet fruits (bananas and sweet apple) honey, dried fruits, fruit juices should also be eliminated from the diet to rid the body of the candida yeast, but I never have eliminated these particular foods from my diet. I continue to eat them, but I also take daily doses of Pau D'Arco as well as lactobacillus acidophilus to conteract my consumption of the fruit.
So, what are the chances that you have an overload of candida albicans in your gut? If I remember right - according to statistics, there is a 95% chance that you have a problem in this area. Now, most likely, if you ask your M.D. about your chances of having this condition you will probably be met with skepticism. However, anyone trained in applied kinesiology can test you to see if you have candidiasis.
There are many books out there on this prticular subject and you would do well to research for yourself. The book I used is The Yeast Syndrome. The front of the book says, "If you suffer from acne, allergies, anxiety, asthma, constipation, depression, diarrhea, earaches, fatigue, headaches, infertility, lost sex drive, poor memory, muscle weakness, persistent coughs, premenstrual syndrome, recurrent vaginitis, skin irritations you may be a victim of the yeast syndrome.
You would do well to check it out for yourself.
I discovered on this road to recovery that chiropractors do more than spinal adjustments. Most can offer various other treatments including allergy testing and prescribing homeopathic remedies. Two of the chiropractors that I went to offered IonCleanse footbath treatments.
Colon hydrotherapy is similar to a coffee enema, only the enema can be done at home by the individual. The colon hydrotherapy (or sometimes called colonic irrigation) is done by a professional, usually at their place of business, though in some instances the colon hydrotherapy can be administered in the home if one's health does not permit them to get out.
If your body is laden with toxins, then it would be most beneficial to you to find a certified therapist who can administer colon hydrotherapy. Any natural health store should be able to help you locate a colonic therapist.
It was necessary for me, personally, to get 25 colonics before my colon was cleansed. Once cleansed, I've learned it doesn't hurt to get a colonic once a year to maintain a healthy gut.
I had never heard of homeopathy until I got sick, and I don't understand it well enough to explain to you what it is, but I can testify that homeopathic remedies played a 'big' part in my recovery. Homeopathy is a very old form of healing and is one of the gentlest forms of medicine known to mankind. Homeopathy is recognized and extensively used by physicians all over the world. I, personally, acquired homeopathic remedies from four different health care providers, or holistic doctors.
So if you are looking for a safe and effective approach to healing, I encourage you to find a health care provider who utilizes homeopathic remedies.
Once I completed the dental revision, the dentist who performed the revision recommended that I submit to a series of IonCleanse treatments. My regimen already included herbal, homeopathic and vitamin/mineral detoxification protocol, but the dentist (who is also a naturopath and a nutritionist) believed the IonCleanse treatments could help the detoxification process. So he referred me to a chiropractor who offered the treatments.
I submitted to the treatments, but they were hard on me. I believe I was experiencing a 'healing crisis'. I knew that a healing crisis is not a bad thing and sometimes necessary in the detoxification process but I knew my body was saying, "Please slow down. This is a little too much."
I didn't want to give up on the IonCleanse treatments because they were apparently moving the heavy metals out of my body. That was the reason my dentist recommended the treatments - to remove the mercury from my body. From previous experiences, whenever my body was accomplishing some serious detoxing it was accompanied by some 'healing crisis'. My definition of 'healing crisis' is simply an overall sick feeling.
I knew if I were to continue with the IonCleanse I knew it would have to be at my own pace - not the pace prescribed for me. That is why I chose to purchase my own IonCleanse unit so that I could have the sessions in the convenience of my own home rather than having to drive 40 miles for the treatments. And, too, so that I could reduce the treatments to 10 minute sessions rather than the 30 minute sessions at the chiropractor's office.
I cannot explain how the IonClease works because I don't understand it, but I assure you there is something to it. It involves placing your feet into a pan of clean water. An array is placed into the water and a control unit delivers a small direct current into the array which causes the metals within the array to generate negatively and positively charged ions by separating the water into hydrogen and oxygen.
After an IonCleanse session you will actually feel lighter and experience a feeling of well being and the water in the pan will have turned various colors during the session. The water in my pan is usually some shade of orange, but I've seen others whose water turned dark green, then muddy brown.
My arthritis improves with each sesssion. The maker of the unit claims that "eighty-five percent of patients with symptoms of gout, osteo-arthritis, edema, inflammation and pain unrelated to subluxation will notice an immediate benefit."
And, no, I haven't established this website to sell you a product. I established this website to help people find their own road to recovery. If you should choose to buy your own unit that's nice. And it WOULD be nicer still if you would let them know that Aletha (Maisie) Birkelbach sent you.
If you do not care to purchase your own unit, there are lots of IonCleanse units already out there and the makers of the unit would be happy to direct you to a practitioner nearest you who can treat you.
So...Happy Hunting!

If your health is severely compromised then it is essential
that you find someone who can give you counsel in the area of
nutrition. That counseling may include a proposed restrictive
diet or it may simply be the addition of certain vitamins, minerals,
essential oils and herbs to your diet.
My recommendation for you is to find someone who is trained in
applied
kinesiology
(AK). Your nutritional needs are unique
and need to be addressed accordingly. By applying the art of
AK a professional can determine what your individual nutritional needs
might be. And you will be wise to be reevaluated ever few
months because your nutritional needs will change over time, therefore
your nutritional supplements will need to be adjusted accordingly.
So far (as of 12-15-07) I have not submitted to reflexology therapy.
According to my naturopath, my healing would have progressed more rapidly if I had done this particular therapy. I have no reason why I did not do it except that time and money was certainly a factor.
"Reflexology uses therapeutic pressure on the foot's points to enhance the body's natural healing mechanism and balance body functions. It is based on the principle that internal glands and organs can be influenced by properly applying pressure to the corresponding reflex area on the foot. When balance is achieved, health is achieved." Encyclopedia of Natural Healing, second edition, p. 360.
Skin Brushing: Brush your skin with a vegetable brush (loufah pad), brushing all parts of the body toward the heart. Then follow up with a sesame oil massage. Massage your whole body for five minutes before bathing/showering. You can purchase the loufah pad and the sesame oil at the health food store and some grocery stores.
I learned a multitude of things during my QUEST (my search for wellness). One of the most important things I discovered is the benefits of coffee enemas. I thank the Lord that I grew up having enemas administered to me. So...because of that, I have it in my mind that enemas are a 'normal' thing, not an abnormal thing. Most people view them as an 'abnormal' thing, however, and for that reason it is difficult to sell others on the idea.
So....allow me to explain how the coffee enema works. The very last part of the colon (just before the rectum) is an 'S' shaped sigmoid colon. By the time the feces (stool) gets to the sigmoid colon most nutrients have been absorbed from the fecal matter and absorbed into the bloodstream. Therefore the fecal matter contains putrefaction by the time it reaches the sigmoid colon. Have you ever felt sick just before having a bowel movement? As soon as the stool material has been eliminated, chances are the sick feeling left. This is due to the toxic quality of the material in the sigmoid colon. That is why it is important to eliminate when you feel the urge.
There is a special circulatory system (enterohepatic circulation) between the sigmoid colon and the liver. A special system of veins in this circulatory system carries rectal/sigmoid toxins directly to the liver for detoxification. This process enables toxins to be sent directly to the liver for detoxification rather than circulating them through the rest of the body and all of its vital organs - including the brain.
During a coffee enema, the caffeine from the coffee is absorbed into this system and goes directly to the liver where it becomes a very strong detoxicant. The caffeine causes the liver to produce more bile. The bile, which contains processed toxins is then moved out toward the small intesting for elimination. This tends to free up the liver to process more incoming toxic materials that have accumulated in the organs, tissues and bloodstream.
The first thing you need is a douche/enema bag. One can be purchased at any retail drug store. It is very important that the enema bag is kept clean and free of mold and mildew. Otherwise you will be putting bad stuff into your colon and you will be defeating the purpose of the enema.
After each enema be sure to rinse the equipment (enema bag, hose, etc.) out with clean water. And just before you use the bag the next time rinse it out with a solution of hydrogen peroxide and water (preferably distilled water). I usually use one part hydrogen peroxide to one part water. After you run the hydrogen peroxide solution through the bag, hose and tip then rinse equipment again with distilled water.
Coffee Solution: Measure one pint (two cups) of distilled water (I used RO water) and pour into a small cookware pan (preferably glass, not metal). Put one to two tablespoons of ground coffee (preferably organic) into the water. Place pan on the burner and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Place one pint of distilled water (room temperature) into a clean container (I use a quart jar.) Add the coffee solution to this water, pouring it through a clean strainer (not paper filter). Then pour it all into the enema bag. Secure the hose to the bag. With the catheter tip in the sink, loosen the clamp to allow the coffee to run out to the end of the catheter tip and then reclamp the bag when all the air has been removed from the enema tubing.
I prepare the bathroom. I take a clean, old towel, fold it in half and place it in the bathtub. If you use good towels then you will have lots of old towels before long because you will have coffee stains on all of them. I put a small pillow at the end of the bathtub for my head. I plug in the jam box and start some relaxing music. Be sure to grab the cordless phone because invariably someone will call right in the middle of the procedure.
You want to position the bag about 18 inches off the floor of the tub. Hanging the bag on the rail of the shower door seems to work fine. Just make sure that you do not hang it high, as on a shower head, because it will be too forceful and the hose won't reach. It should flow very gently into the rectum and sigmoid colon only. It is not a high enema or colonic. Allowing the coffee solution to go well up into the colon may introduce caffeine into the general circulation as though you had taken it by mouth.
I keep a small bottle (with a dropper) in the drawer of the bathroom filled with cold pressed extra virgin olive oil. It works well to lubricate the insertion tip with the oil before inserting into the rectum. (Vitamin E oil is also recommended. Just cut one end of a vitamin E soft gel and squeeze the oil onto the enema tip. Or you can buy vitamin E oil in a jar.)
I put a clean wash cloth on the edge of the tub and I’m ready to begin. (The wash cloth, like the towels, needs to be old, not your good ones.)
You want to begin with your bladder empty so void in the toilet. Get into the tub and lay down on the towel on your back with your knees bent. Insert the tip gently into your rectum. Open the clip on the hose of the enema bag and allow half of the coffee solution (2 cups maximum) into your colon. I guess at it by the weight of the bag. (A see through bag would take the guess work out of it.) When it feels like only one pint is left in the bag then I stop the flow of the solution. Be sure to clamp the tubing off as soon as there is the slightest amount of discomfort or fullness. Do not change positions or use an incline board to cause the enema to enter further into the colon. That would defeat the purpose of this type of enema.
Once you have placed the pint of solution into your sigmoid colon then clamp the tubing off and remove the tip from the rectum. Try to retain the enema for a minimum of 12 or more minutes. Sometimes there will be an immediate urgency to void the solution and that is fine. Never force yourself to retain it if you feel you need to void. After you have emptied the bowel, proceed with the remaining solution in the bag and likewise hold it for at least 12 minutes, then void in the toilet also. The wash cloth comes in handy to catch any drips from the tub to the toilet.
After the procedure is complete then rinse out the bag and hose with tap water and hang it up to dry. (I do not put the hose back on the bag. I hang it separately.)
A generation or so ago enemas were a common thing in treating ailments. For some reason the use of enemas has fallen by the wayside. In times past mothers would administer an enema to their child at the first sign of a cold or flu. Mothers knew that the use of the enema could speed healing by removing toxins from the body, which would help in relieving symptoms of the illness.
The coffee enema, from my own experience, is a great pain reliever. I have gotten rid of many a headache by doing a coffee enema. I pride myself on the fact that I very seldom take aspirin, Tylenol or Ibuprofen. I've learned that they only treat the symptom by masking the pain. The coffee enema, on the other hand, addresses the cause of the headache.
There have been many mornings that I got up and I was coughing and clearing the throat. When that happens I do a coffee enema and it clears up the phlegm which clears the throat and stops the coughing.
And, as crazy as it sounds, I look forward to my coffee enemas. It is a relaxing time, and it helps to relieve distress and it leaves me with a sense of well-being and a feeling of cleanliness.
I pray that you will give it a try. If you do it will prove extremely beneficial to your overall health because it aids the body in the removal of toxins.
If you feel wired or hyper, or have palpitations or irregular heartbeats after a coffee enema, you should reduce the amount of coffe that you use. Or it may be that you need organic coffee. Also be sure that the source of your water is good clean chemical-free spring, well, or filtered water.
Sometimes you will hear or feel a squirting out and emptying of the gallbladder. This occurs under the right rib cage, or sometimes more closely to the mid line. If after a week of daily enemas you have never felt or heard the gall bladder release, you should consider making the coffee stronger, going up in 1/2 tablespoon increments per quart, not exceeding 2 tablespoons per cup. Also, you may need a slightly larger volume of solution (maybe 3 cups at a time). Sometimes, 3 enemas (2 cups or less each) rather than two at a session are more beneficial for some.
NOTE:
Always discontinue the enemas if there is any adverse reaction whatsoever, and discuss it with the doctor at your next appointment. If you find the enema helpful, do not use it more than once per day for any extended period without medical supervision. Use it as necessary, perhaps several days in a row, but more commonly a few times a week.
So....what is 'dental revision'? It is the removal of amalgam fillings in the mouth and replacing them with a composite material that is biocompatible with the patient. Amalgam is an alloy composed of silver, tin and copper but mostly mercury. Dental revision is not something anyone should rush into it. Anyone who is considering dental revision should research it thoroughly before making a decision.
Dental revision is risky because of possible exposure to the mercury and the mercury vapors during the process. The process involves drilling into the mercury fillings so that they can be removed in chunks. The larger the chunks the less exposure to the mercury in the dental material called amalgam.
If you are considering having a dental revision done then please understand that it is very necessary to find a dentist who understands and applies proper procedures in performing the revision. (Find a mercury-safe dentist at www.iaomt.com) Several precautions need to be taken to ensure everyone's safety during the procedure. Technicians and the dentist must wear protective clothing and masks to prevent their exposure to the mercury and the mercury vapors during the procedure. Special equipment is needed to vacuum the mercury vapor and mercury particles out of the air. An additional air filtration system is also needed to filter out any fine particles of mercury that the vacuum missed.
If you have any gold in your mouth along with the amalgam then be assured that you are even more at risk than if you simply have the amalgams. Let me explain as best as I know how. Each amalgam filling acts as a small battery (because of the dissimilar metals in the amalgam and the saliva working as an acid). But, add gold to the equation and the battery effect in the mouth is exacerbated. In my case, a gold crown was placed on top of an existing amalgam filling. I knew there was a serious problem with that particular tooth because at the base of the tooth (where tooth meets the gum) there was a dark, metallic-colored ring around the tooth. In the jaw area below the tooth was constant pain. One day I decided to brush with baking soda and salt mixed together. When the mixture hit that particular tooth it felt like a small lightening bolt had hit it.
At this point in time you could be saying, "But they (I guess meaning the dentists) don't use mercury any more". I have been amazed at the number of times I have heard that statement. And I respond by saying, "You can be sure that they still use it. If you have metal fillings in your mouth then you have mercury in your mouth. They (the dentists) didn't bother to tell you that they were putting mercury in your mouth. I'm sure they called them 'silver fillings' or perhaps they used the term 'amalgam'. Saying 'silver' fillings is a misnomer since amalgam is comprised of mostly mercury. (Just over 50% of amalgam is mercury. Silver comprises approximately 30% of the amalgam material.)
I could spend a considerable amount of time sharing with you all that I learned in my study of amalgams and mercury poisoning, but I shall leave it with you to research it for yourself. But get prepared to get really angry, because in your study you will discover how many so-called 'incurable' conditions disappear after amalgams are removed. You will learn how the A.D.A (American Dental Association) uses intimidation, threats, gag rules and law suits to keep dentists from informing their patients about the dangers of mercury amalgams.
In the Resources section of this website I have listed several books and publications that will be very helpful to you if you want to learn more about mercury poisoning from mercury amalgams. (I highly recommend http://www.toxicteeth.org for further study.) It is important that you understand how mercury is released from amalgams. If you are considering dental revision then you must familiarize yourself with the proper procedure of dental revision. It would also be very valuable to you to learn of the various chelation techniques used in removing heavy metal toxins from the body once the amalgams are removed.
You will also find an interesting article in the Discoveries section concerning mercury amalgams.
The February 2008 issue of DAMS, International Newsletter (Dental Truth) has an interesting article by a Dr. Diane Meyer, DDS. Dr. Meyer had attended a holistic dental seminar at the urgency of her brother. At that seminar, she learned that the myriad of symptoms that she had been battling for quite some time were very possibly a result of occupational exposure to mercury. (She had approximately 25 years in the dental field, the last 10 as a dentist.)
Motivated to educate herself, she spent hundreds of hours researching the effects of mercury on the body. The more she researched, the more she realized that her health may have been severely compromised by her own silver fillings as well as by her occupational exposure. She sought the help from a dentist trained to remove her fillings in the proper way. This was just the beginning of a long road to recovery due to all the absorption of mercury that had taken place in her body over the years. (She had been diagnosed by a medical doctor with chronic mercury poisoning.)
She states, "Silver-amalgam removal needs to be done properly. It's my recommendation that patients should become nutritionally stabilized (this requires blood and hair samples) and should assess the body's ability to detoxify properly by looking at liver, kidneys, bowel function, ability to sweat; dietary needs should also be addressed. I also recommend a biocompatibility test, which is a blood test, to see which filling material you are least reactive to, much like an allergy test .... All of the preparation should all be done prior to dental amalgam replacement."
She goes on to say, "Today there is much information to help you educate yourself and make informed decisions. My favorite websites are www.dentalwellness4u.com and www.HugginsAppliedHealing. good luck with your quest!"

I had heard of applied kinesiology (AK), but I knew nothing about it until my CRASH of July 2001. All of my doctors during my road to recovery used AK in treating me.
Another term for AK is 'muscle testing'. Muscle testing can be applied in many different areas of treatment. They (my doctors) muscle tested me to establish a nutritional regimen for me. They muscle tested me to evaluate the condition of the organs in my body. Muscle testing was also used to determine which herbs and supplements were needed to be incorporated during the colon hydrotherapy. Muscle testing was used to determine what dental material was most compatible to my body for the dental revision. I even applied the principals of kinesiology to determine which pair of new eye glasses was most compatible to my body.
I would heartily recommend that if you are looking for practitioners to help you on your road of healing that you find those who practice applied kinesiology. As I write this it has been over 10 years since my CRASH. I still have not found a cure to ME/CFS. But I have learned how to maintain. I have discovered that my life will continue to be a life of discipline and perseverance as I continue on this Road to Recovery. I confess to you that I have to stay on top of my condition. I am still chemically sensitive, electrically sensitive and I have to watch carefully where I go, what I do and what I eat. I have to keep the candida in check at all times and I still do parasite cleanses on occasion. I continue with my coffee enemas and my strict diet and nutrition. I currently am experimenting with a detoxing protocol that has been very interesting to say the least. And, I am using muscle testing on a regular basis.
My naturopaths taught me how to do muscle testing on myself and it has been a very valuable asset on this Road to Recovery. I have taught others to muscle test as well. I call it the swing method and it is a very simple thing to do. You stand away from the microwave. Don't be holding a cellphone in your hand or have a cap or hat on your head. The first thing you do is say, "My name is __________ (say your name)". Your body will swing forward or backward. If it swings forward, your body is saying, "Yes, your name is __________." If your body swings backward, then your body is not in sink and you can not continue with the muscle testing. Wait until a later time and try it again. The forward motion of the body indicates that you are in sink and can proceed.
Lately, when I suspect that I am needing a coffe enema I ask my body if it needs one. Generally it will swing forward and indicate a 'yes' answer since I am already pretty much aware that I am needing one. I then ask it - on a scale from one to ten with one meaning don't need one very much to ten meaning I need one VERY much. Then my body will swing foward one to ten times to let me know how much I am needing one.
Muscle testing is very valuable in determining one's nutritional intake. If I suspect that I am needing a particular supplement, vitamin, herbal remedy, etc., I can muscle test to determine whether or not my body is needing it and how much it is needing. I first check to see if I am in sink, then I hold the bottle or package of whatever and ask if it is something my body needs. Then I proceed to ask how much it needs. First, I ask if it needs it every day. If I get a 'yes' answer, then I proceed with the next question of 'how much do I need each day'. You will ask the appropriate question: i.e. "how many drops do you need each day?" or "how many capsules do you need each day?" or whatever.
This is very helpful when you are in a health food store and you want to know if you should buy a particular product. It is also helpful if you want to know if you should stay away from a particular food.
My naturopath recently encouraged me to determine the cause of my hearing loss since I am too young to be loosing my hearing. So the first question I asked was, "Is it exposure to chemicals that has caused my hearing loss?" I get a 'No' answer since my body swung backward. I then asked, "Is it something I eat that has caused my hearing loss?" Once again I get a 'No' answer. I then ask, "Is it heavy metals in my body that has caused it?" I get a 'Yes' answer. Since I am presently on a detoxing protocol to pull the residual heavy metals out of my body I asked, "If I succeed in getting the heavy metals out of my body, will it improve my hearing?" I get a 'No' answer. I then ask, "So the hearing loss from the heavy metals is a permanent hearing loss?" I get a 'Yes' answer.
My naturopath also encouraged me to do ear candles to help the hearing loss. I have done the ear candles a total of 6 times and I did muscle testing to find out how many more candles I need to purchase to complete this process. My body told me 7 more times. It is amazing how much ear wax I have gotten out with the use of the ear candles. I asked my body, "Has the ear wax contributed to my hearing loss?" Answer: 'yes'. I asked, "Will the ringing in my ears stop when I get all the wax out?" I got a 'yes' answer. I do hope my body didn't lie to me.
Yesterday, I was develping a headache and I suspected that it was because I had spent time in a department store. So I asked my body, "Is the headache due to the exposure in the department store?" Answer: 'yes'. You may be asking, "Why a department store?" Well, I asked my body. "Is it the chemicals in the new clothing?" Answer: 'Yes'. "Is it the perfumes/colognes?" Answer: 'Yes'.
I was also curious one day as to what causes my insomnia that I have suffered with for over 30 years. So I asked, "Is it chemicals I am exposed to?" 'Yes' is the answer. "Is it EMFs (electromagnetic frequencies )?" 'Yes' again. "Am I sensitive to the EMFs because of the heavy metals in my body?"'Yes' again. "If I succeed in ridding my body of the heavy metals, will the insominia improve?" I truly rejoiced when my body said, 'yes'.
A few months ago I began doing body soaks. The particular body soak I am using addresses the heavy metals and several chemicals. The suggested dosage of the body soak solution in the bath is 8 ounces, but it took a good three months of soaks before I could build up to the reccomended dose of 8 ounces. I began with only four ounces in the tub of warm water. It is important what questions you ask your body. When I asked my body how much of the body soak I was needing it would swing forward 8 times meaning 8 ounces of the solution. However, when I ask it the important question of how much it could handle, the answer was much different. I had to begin with only 2.5 ounces in the tub. I did that twice, then increased to 3, then 4, then 5.5, then 6, then 6.5, 7.5 and 7 weeks after the first soak I finally arrived at the 8 ounce reccomended dose.
The protocol reccomended that my head be in the water except for my nose and mouth so I could breathe. When I put my head down in the water during the soak for the reccomended time of 10 minutes I would have a sick headache for 3 days afterward. Then I realized that I had to muscle test to determine how much time my body was able to handle my head down in the water. Answer: '4 minutes', It still remains at 4 minutes even after all these months of doing the soaks.
